The Light in S.D. is really different. There is a crystal, clear and saturated blue that I have never seen. The collision of the natural/synthetic has an effect of construction in these images.
Of course I heighten this to express my feeling of the situation. What is natural? There is nothing 'natural'; the camera and my brain construct the image. This is where painting influences photography.
